looking out.
the air is still inside.
insulated.
protected or prisoner?
urban dreams disturb my sleep. bordering on nightmares. isolation madness. sci-fi robotic earth mother. the observance of everyday goings on from just outside the atmosphere, looking down.

In my brain as I listen - sound becomes dissected.

This collection of compositions bore the brunt of my isolation during the 2020 and after pandemic. These works were created with the idea of giving myself a sound bath to relieve the stress and physical pain of isolation. I used the exercise of composition and the performative aspect of recording to create sonic palettes for moments of catharsis. The resultant works I revisited repeatedly during the social lockdown while being forced to work remotely. They became for me (to borrow from Aldous Huxley) an aural soma.
I do not yet know if the sounds will also help other people in the same way or not, but that would be my hope. I feel that music/pure sound is a more capable communicator of empathy and speaks more directly to some people.
